everyone has a chance to learn or teach a skill or craft. if the resources are available, there is a chance for you to curate a workshop, course, open call, contribute to our print publication or come along for an excursion.

documentation will be an important aspect of developing curriculum. we believe in fair and open-source resource sharing, but with courteous credit given where it is due. if you are more of a historian or writer, there is space for you here, especially within our stream of print publications.

one of the biggest priorities is that artists, collaborators, and instructors are given fair pay throughout the whole process. and that the resources it takes to run underneath.study are as transparent as possible. collaborators have a choice of:

generous support: being fully supported in conceptual development and promotion for a 20% cut to underneath.study to support hours of labor involved and costs to maintain underneath.study.

basic support: simply being included in a list of aggregated independently produced programming for free. the only difference between the two is priority in spreading the word out to the world and limited support in ideation/curation of your offering. all you provide is a link to sign up on luma.

sharing of proceeds: any proceeds yielded from sales of printed media, art shared during shows, etc. will be split evenly by all collaborators involved after production expenses are paid (including underneath.study).

underneath.study is a resource for others to participate in accessible independent study first and foremost.

we welcome people of all levels of experience to get involved. an interest is the only qualification. please reach out to alexa@underneath.study with a short brief on your ideas.
